René Jonen
“I like drama, but not in court.”
Born and raised in the Haarlemmermeerpolder when Hoofddorp was still a little village. Later on he settled in Amsterdam, where he became a lawyer-entrepreneur in 1987. He joined DKVA in October 2023, where he shares his knowledge with the everyone.
René specializes in civil MKB-practice, with a focus on Employment law and Contract law. He says, “I handle everything that can go wrong with agreements.” He always enjoys dealing with ‘the fine print.’ A no-nonsense lawyer who is approachable for everyone. He wants to understand how things work and appreciates that the legal field is constantly evolving.
René worked for a boss only once, in the early ’80s. After that employer went bankrupt, he started working as a lawyer in the office of the trustee. René is loyal and very devoted, to people, to opinions, and to possessions. For instance, he has been driving the same Volvo for 24 years. René has been married -also for a very long time- to a former lawyer and judge. Together, they have two children. Recently, after 40 years, he exchanged Amsterdam for Alkmaar, where he now happily rides his bike to the beach
