Jelle grew up in beautiful Groningen and felt so at home there that he completed both a bachelor’s degree in Dutch law and IT law and a master’s degree in private law at the University of Groningen — for a long time, his motto was: nothing beats Groningen.
After his studies, he moved from Groningen to Amsterdam, where he began working as a solicitor in the Zuidas business district. He was admitted to the bar in February 2023. In the years that followed, he gained extensive experience in commercial contract law and civil property law, and successfully completed both the professional training programme for solicitors and the Law Firm School. In March 2026, Jelle made the move to De Koning Vergouwen, seeking greater autonomy. Here, he continues his practice in the same areas and supports clients with incisive analyses, watertight contracts and sound litigation.
In his spare time, football is Jelle’s main focus. Whereas he used to be in the stands at FC Groningen every week, he now also has a season ticket for FC Volendam due to the long journey north. He also takes to the pitch every Saturday for Arsenal – the Amsterdam amateur club, that is. Jelle also enjoys travelling, preferably to Central and South America. A highlight was his visit to the salt flats in Bolivia.
