As a true Amsterdammer, Laurie studied law at VU University Amsterdam and private law at the University of Amsterdam. She was admitted to the bar in 2020 and has been working at DKVA since 2024.
Laurie specialises in civil property law, a field in which she has gained knowledge and experience across a wide range of topics, including the drafting and negotiation of tenancy and franchise agreements. She therefore regularly publishes articles on commercial tenancy law.
When she is not working, Laurie can often be found running in the Vondelpark. For longer distances, she prefers to head for the mountains, where she goes on multi-day treks. She loves hiking from place to place, carrying all her essentials on her back.
Laurie has registered the following principal (and subsidiary) area of law in the Dutch Bar Association’s register of legal specialisms: commercial property tenancy law. Under this registration, she is required to earn ten continuing professional development points each calendar year in each registered principal area of law, in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
